There are legendary men and women in Magic. Performers and creators and inventors and authors... who are remembered for even hundreds of years, in this small community, this small fraternity we call Magic! Gene Poinc has carved a permanent place in this Magical Hall of Fame.

I see Gene seated proudly with our forbears:

The Wise Crone,
Reginald Scott,
Robert Houdin,
The Herrmann and Bamberg dynasties,
Thurston, Keller, Blackstone, Houdini...
S. H. Sharpe, Punx, Masklyn Ye Mage, Henning...

All our Heroes far to numerous to mention, but, all etched in every creative movement of our hands, hearts, and minds!

Eugene Poinc leaves behind, legions of friends.. a huge magical Family. And he leaves behind a huge treasure trove of drawings, writings, and magical presentations, which will be studied, respected, and performed... by generations of Thinking Magicians for perhaps hundreds of years!

I cannot mourn his passing, he'd hate that... but I can celebrate the wealth of knowledge and friendship he bestowed upon me personally, and shared within groups such as this.

Even my personal library of Poinc's works is large, and it hardly touches the surface of his vast outpouring of wisdom, humor, artistry, and humanity. Now, even after his passing, there are magazine articles and entire volumes of books waiting in the wings to be published...Gene's legacy lives on...far past his last breaths!

Take a moment to recall a favorite moment: The Twins, Madame Grodznoya, The NLT+, or a favorite feud, or favorite fellowship, or a favorite presentation.. And consider in that moment, how this man, who you may have never met, impacted your Magic and your life.. That moment of reflection is all Gene would ask, that, and a seance or two, I expect.

But our collective memories and moments of Eugene Poinc, and his Magical legacy, will, I know, I promise, I guarantee, will enrich future practitioners of our art and craft for a very, very long time indeed.
