From Atlanta, GA, USA, Jim became interested in magic
early on when his grandparents gave him a copy of Walter Gibson's, 'The
Master Magicians'.
He also had an interest in ghost stories and the paranormal at an early age. When Tony Shiels released Something Strange in 1968, he discovered bizarre magick. By 1971 he had written Horror Magic. Other books include Turn of a Friendly Card (on magick with Tarot Cards), Mysteries of the Runes (magick with Rune Stones), Tales from the Talking Board (magick with Ouija Board), Astro-Disks I (magick including 13 wooden zodiac discs), Arcana of Bizarre Magick (a 200 page primer on bizarre magick), and Raising the Dead for Fun & Profit (marketing and performing séance parties). He wrote a column on séance performing in Séance
magazine, and a column on bizarre magick in Vibrations
magazine, as well as a series in Krypts Quarterly
Crier. He appeared on the cover of a 1990 Magische
Welt magazine, where he is called the Stephen King of Magic.
