In 1983 Jeff Evason was working as a radio announcer and part-time magician in Toronto. Tessa had recently moved to Canada from the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia and she was working as a fashion model. It seems that they were destined to be together.

Although they had never met, Jeff and Tessa shared a mutual friend, Lisa, a fashion designer. To help enhance an upcoming fashion show, Lisa invited Jeff to perform a short act of illusion using one of the models as an assistant. When she asked the girls if anyone wanted to work with a magician, Tessa volunteered  immediately. When Jeff and Tessa performed together in the fashion show, their act was a hit.

From then on they worked together often in and around Toronto. It wasn’t long before they received an offer to perform on a Caribbean cruise ship for six months. That cruise ship booking was the beginning of a magical partnership that continues today.

In their magic act they often performed feats of telepathy. This type of demonstration seemed to be what pleased the audience most. They decided to study the area of psychic phenomena further and devote more of their show to performances of ESP. It was a good decision.

Their peers and fans alike recognize Jeff & Tessa as the finest mentalist duo in the world. They have amazed audiences worldwide in over 28 countries with their thought provoking, interactive show consisting of ESP, Mind over Matter, Super Memory, Telepathy, Prediction and Levitation.

They have been seen by millions on network TV shows including Powers of the Paranormal on FOX, The World’s Greatest Magic on NBC, Grand Illusions on Discovery Channel, Open Mike with Mike Bullard on CTV & The Comedy Network and Masters of Illusion on PAX.

The international Psychic Entertainers Association voted them top performers of the year and gave them the association’s highest honor “The Dunninger Memorial Award for Distinguished Professionalism in the Performance of Mentalism”. At the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas they won the SARMOTI Award in the World Challenge Stage Competition. They are the first mentalists ever to receive this prestigious award, which magic superstars Siegfried & Roy personally present to their favorite act. In 2003 they became the first recipients of the Mentalism Award from the famed Milbourne Christopher Foundation at the annual Society of American Magicians convention in Las Vegas.
