Ed Loveland was born
in Pocatello Idaho, USA in 1938. After
serving 35 years as a Director of Facilities Engineering for Veterans
Administration Hospitals, he is happily retired in the Seattle,
Washington area. He began doing magic at an age of eight, and now at the age
of 67, has been doing magic for almost 60 years.
He is a member of the Order Of Merlin with the International
Brotherhood of Magicians, is a member of the Society of American
Magicians, The Psychic Entertainers Association, one of the original
members of both The Shadow Network and Shadow Digest, The Magick Club,
and the founder of The Psychic Coven, a small group of bizarrist, that
meet infrequently in the Seattle Washington area.
He was the president of IBM Ring 52, form about 1980 to about
2000 and has served as Vice President of SAM Assembly 200.
He is the recipient of the Bob Haines Award of the Psychic
Entertainers Association.
Ed’s switch to Bizarre Magick, began back in the mid-80’s, when Stephen Minch talked him in to attending one of Toni Andruzzi’s Invocations. He has been hooked ever since. Ed has had routines published in the following:-

Of all of the contributions, only
one made it to market, and that was Ed’s, The Ashes Of Dracula.
Ed was fortunate to be able to attend several of the Invocations, before the Fat Lady sang. He also attended most of the Weerd Weekends, some of the Inner Circle of Bizarre Magicians and several of the Gatherings in Edinburgh. Ed was greatly influenced by Steve Minch, Tony Andruzzi, Brother Shadow, Charles Cameron, Docc Hilford, Gene Poinc, Mary Tomich, Jim Magus, and many others, whose friendships, guidance and encouragement, spurred on many of his creative efforts into the world of Bizarre Magick.
Ed sadly passed away on May 30th. 2015 and is greatly missed by all that knew him, especially those that met him in Edinburgh when he attended Gatherings there organized by Karl Bartoni. To read his Obituary go to the Annual Archives area for 2015. |
