Dragonskull Magic presents a profile of E Burger.

Eugene Burger

[Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., June 1st 1939].

Eugene at age seven was inspired by the gift of a 'Mysto Magic set. A teacher of Philosophy until he turned full-time professional performer of close-up magic in 1978.

Magicians are pretty special people but Eugene Burger is considered exceptional even by other magicans'. As much as he loves discussing magic with fellow performers, his true passion is bringing mystery and enchantment to all who watch his performances and at that he is unparalleled. Watching Eugene perform close-up magic (where everyone becomes part of the show as the magic is performed right under your nose) is truly an unforgettable experience. Anyone who has seen or had the pleasure of meeting with him can vouch for the fact that his warmth, humor and persona are captivating and his magic is simply amazing.

Many top performers of 'Close-Up Magic' have to limit their performance to certain themes such as card or coin magic...NOT Eugene. His skills, expertise and love for the craft have no such boundaries, he is a delight to watch whether he be performing with sponge balls through to a magical ritual or just telling a ghostly story.

He has traveled the world both as an entertainer and lecturer to other magicians.

"One of the 100 most influential magicians of the 20th Century" - Magic Magazine.

"Eugene Burger is universally recognized as perhaps the finest close-up magician in the world" - Stagebill magazine.

"Burger's magic is simply jaw-dropping" - L.A.Weekly.

He has had numerous television appearances in most of the countries he has visited including Great Britain, Canada, Belgium, Finland and Japan.

To date (2002), he has written fifteen best-selling books for magicians (translated into several languages) and starred in eight instructional videos.

Surprisingly, with so much to his credit, Eugene lacks one thing compared to so many other top magicians.....arrogance! A true gentleman whenever you meet him.
