Elliott Black,
a.k.a. Michael Elliott, The Sherlock Holmes of Thought.
Elliott Black resides in Northbrook, Illinois, a
suburb of Chicago, USA.
"I was born at an early age in 1940 in Baltimore, MD, USA, I saw Harry Blackstone in the late '40s but didn't get the magic/mentalism bug until the early 1970's. As my interest in magic grew, I began to turn toward Mentalism and those routines utilizing sleights of mind. This became heightened during the latter part of the 1970s and I joined the Psychic Entertainers Association (PEA) in 1978. I eventually served 10 years on its board with four as President. I have published several effects in various PEA member-only publications and developed a lecture based on the themed presentation of mentalism. It is based on my own presentation of mentalism under the guise of "The Sherlock Holmes of Thought". My favorite venue is stage and/or parlor. I have performed on various cruise ships, for corporate events, for private groups, and for charity events. My other interests include, in addition to mentalism and Sherlock Holmes, fictional detective mysteries with an emphasis toward to historical detectives. A member of The Wolfe Pack, The Praed Street Irregulars, and numerous Sherlockian scion societies, I have had articles published in the Sherlockian world in the U.S., Canada, England, and Japan. I am currently working on a compendium of toasts to characters and events in the Sherlockian Canon." |
