A psychic investigator of some 50 years standing, he has gifted an
extensive library of historic
newspaper articles, cuttings and other press features to the Scottish
Society for Psychical Research based in Glasgow.
During the 1990s Charles served on the local Edinburgh Branch
Committee and also on the Council of the Society. With his clear diction, he did readings for the blind while he lived in
Haddington and was also a firm supporter of the Community Day Centre in
the town. In any spare time
he rattles collecting cans
for various charities, including more recently, the Poppy Appeal! As well as a love of books, he has written books as well – to date
thirteen, with another five on the stocks. He also wrote 'The
Cauldron' (serial pamphlet) which has been recently reproduced by Karl
Bartoni for The Magik Club. He celebrated his 70th birthday on 31st October, 1997 with a surprise party thrown by family and friends. This was featured in John Gibson's column in the Edinburgh Evening News. Needless to say, his birthday coincided with the publication of yet another book. |
