A LEGEND AND
WONDERFUL MAN HAS LEFT US.

Sadly we have to report that Bob Lynn a.k.a Tony Raven (who latterly
preferred to be known as Bob Raven) unexpectedly passed away at about 6 a.m. EST on the 3rd October. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday (5th) at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 6479 Raleigh Road, Kittrell, NC 27544 by the Revs. J.H. Daniels and Carol Dean. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Residing in the USA, Bob Lynn, under his name of Anthony Raven was a
prominent magician, psychic entertainer, bizarrist & escape artist between the  1940's & 80's and was one of the early promoters of Bizarre Magick. He co-founded the Psychic Entertainers Association in 1978 and was it's president 1978-83. As "Anthony Raven", he published-edited 'Invocation' (1974-81), 'Raven Report' (1977-79, four issues), and 'New Invocation' (1979-81). Among many other titles, he wrote and published 'The Necromantic Grimoire of Augustus Rupp' (1974).

Mary (his wife) said that there had been no indication that this was going to happen, he simply just left us about 6 a.m. Mary went on to say that they were both looking forward to starting another series of programs about Native Americans Awareness for schools this weekend. This was to consist of twelve programs taking up all of November. In fact they had spent all day wednesday loading up the car and sorting out
which clothes they were going to wear to present the programs.

Bob was co-founder of Cherokee Way with his wife, Mary Ackerman "Morning Star" Lynn (whom he married on the 1st June 1957), and together they have promoted Native American Awareness through programs to schools, civic organizations and churches. Mary told me that Cherokee Way would not continue because it all relied on Bob and his energy.

There is no doubt that Tony Raven is one of those few very special people who kick started bizarre magic and we have much to owe him. Perhaps you should remind yourself of this remarkable man by visiting his area on dragonskull.
