MINDVENTION
The Annual All-Mentalism Convention
Date: November 13 - 15, 2005

Venue: The Palace Station Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.

Excerpts from a review by David Goodsell.

About 140 persons attended MindVention 2005, held in Las Vegas this past November. Quite a number of stars were among the registrants and performers, and we saw Steve Bedwell, Luke Jermay, Jeff McBride, Banachek, Lee Earle amd Mark Strivings mixing with us regular folk.

All lectures, panel discusiuons and shows for MindVention 2005 were held in a medium sized banquet room. The room had a platform at one end and several large screen monitors so everyone, even in the back rows, could see the detail stuff.

Eight lectures featured Harvey Berg, Barrie Richardson, Banachek, Lee Earle, Bruce Bernstein, Luke Jermay, Rick Maue and David Charvet.

There were three panel discussions:-
1, "Developing Your Character".
2, "The Ethics of Mindreading".
3, "Pre-Show Work".

The first and second night shows were made up of registrants who signed up on the spot to perform on the shows. Some acts were great and some were only fair.

Late on the first night, Rick Maue and Francis Minotti ran a little workshop on how to plane and market a séance.

Lee Earle kicked off the second day with a lecture on Q&A, a talk full of anecdotes, quips, ideas, tips and demonstrations.

The evening attendees show included Joe Butler, Ron Guttman, Josh Jay, Parson Smith, Ray Thompson, Mark Strivings and Bro Gilbert.

On the last night, the All-Star Show featured Bruce Bernstein, Rick Maue Harvey Berg, Barrie Richardson, Lee Earle, Luke Jermay and Banachek.

Congratulations to Robert Allen and Danny Archer, producers of the convention. I'm going back next year! November 5-7, 2006. Mark your calenders!

David Goodsell.
