2004archive gathering .

In Edinburgh, Scotland, 8th., 9th. & 10th. October.

The Gathering this year was of a medium size with 25 people attending. This was by design (as advertised last year) and from the enjoyment had, this will be the new format for future years. Below are just a few of the comments made by some of those who attended the Gathering this year.

Peter Arcane writes:
The response so far from those that attend (or at least those that I've talked to!), was that this years UK/Edinburgh Gathering was one of the best. Sessions into the wee hours - where ideas and stories were freely shared. ...and above all, a friendship you just can't put a price on.

Highlight for myself - Brother Shadow 'entertaining' a room full of people with recitations. Boy can that man 'hold court'!! It brought back memories of the first time I ever saw Charles Cameron.

As always our beloved Alex & Margaret made sure we were all fed and watered. Thanks got to all for a great weekend. Until the next time....

How good it is to be amongst our brothers and sisters yet again. To me it was the best gathering in Edinburgh yet but, I feel I do say that every year and not without a reason. It seems that every year we go from strength to strength, and I for one have already booked myself for next year.

On Thursday night our brother Dr. Extispisy showed a group of eagerly waiting ladies the best that our brand of entertainment can offer. The Ladies where enchanted by his stories and first class effects. In between effects and in another room brother Ronaldo followed on by doing Readings for the ladies. Food a plenty was served by our Sister Margaret and the wine kept on being poured from enchanted bottles into empty glasses. It was a Psychic Party to remember.

Than came Friday and most of our Brothers gathered at Alexe's flat for yet another party. Many effects have been discussed and we had much to learn much to eat and much to laugh how excellent.

Saturday came and we all headed to a Private Club that was arranged especially for the Gathering by Sister Margaret.

Those who had items for sale did a nice "Showcase" for all to see. Business was brisk and we moved on to the main lecture delivered flawlessly by brother Trevor McCombie. This young man showed us some very sophisticated mentalism routine and we have all agreed that it was a superb lecture with a lot to offer.

Brother Shadow gave us all a special treat to his pet effects that are so nicely crafted and full of enchantment. He than took his leave to catch up on some sleep as he had only arrived in Edinburgh (from the States) a few hours earlier. At the end of the daytime session, back to our "Headquarters" we all marched with heads still spinning from all we have seen learned and witnessed.

Saturday night came and what a night it turned out to be. First we have been fed by our hosts Margaret and Alex. The buffet was excellent and indeed much more  that we could handle. Thank you both for everything.

Later we had performances by our brothers Leslie Melville, Jim Critchlow, Brian Maxwell, and Ronaldo with other brothers following on with single items. Most kept on the Jollifications until the early hours of the morning. BRILLIANT!

Sunday lunch time most of us went to visit Rosslyn Chapel and on our return to base we had to demonstrate our abilities as Children Entertainers for Margaret's grand children. Leslie Melville headed the "Star Studded" list of performers with his Chinese rope and other wonderful effects. Brother Shadow was on his knees looking for and catching live Elves that had to be fed before being set free again. Most of us did one or two effects. Another Magical afternoon with so much happening. In the evening we all went out for a meal and most ended the day back at our base before bidding farewell for another year.

So with this is time to close and say roll on next year I miss you all already.

I am still catching up from my trip to Edinburgh. The Gathering was great. The group was a little smaller than usual and there was nothing formal, which gave us all a chance to talk to each other. It is always great visiting old friends. Everybody took part, performing showing new things, and I even got to do some recitations. Being the ham that I am, I loved it. I stayed in Edinburgh a few days after the gathering was over. I love that city and walked my ass off. I checked out the Charles Cammeron plaque on the Royal Mile, and it looks great. I thank all of you who contributed to it. All and all it was a wonderful time.
